Building Habits of Excellence

Since 2000, ThistleWaithe Learning Center has opened its doors to children and families seeking a preschool experience that fosters creativity, independent thinking, and a life-long love of learning. We believe in the unlimited potential of children and nurture their inherent connection with our natural world, helping them become responsible, engaged citizens of the world.

Our Montessori school offers a haven for learning both fully and joyfully. With programs for toddlers (18-36 months) and children ages 3-6, ThistleWaithe inspires the youngest learners to challenge themselves, observe, and explore their world to seek more extraordinary discoveries.

Come grow with us!

Locations

Our stunning landscapes brim with learning opportunities for our Montessori students to explore their connections to the world around them and develop a natural sense of wonder.

South Salem

Since opening in 2009, ThistleWaithe’s South Salem location has offered an unparalleled campus whose 6.5 acres of natural landscape provide myriad learning opportunities for our students.

Katonah

Our Katonah location provides an enriching experiential learning environment replete with opportunities to grow.  We connect with nature and stimulate creative play on the grassy playground or in the gymnasium.

Admissions

ThistleWaithe’s doors are open to families seeking a unique and enriching early childhood education. The first step in the admission process is to schedule a tour of our South Salem or Katonah campus to allow parents to experience all that we offer. To preserve the peaceful learning environment for our children, we kindly ask that this initial visit be exclusively for parents.

ThistleWaithe follows the Katonah-Lewisboro School District (KLSD)’s 10-month school year with some modifications, which starts in early September and goes through mid-June. We offer summer camp for students entering the Toddler, Primary, and Studio classrooms every June through July. Our school is closed in August.

To schedule a visit, fill out the form or contact our Admissions Director at [email protected].

Our Mission

We will educate young children to be strong, well-adjusted personalities, who will have the motivation and courage to make individual decisions and to discern intelligently while maintaining respect and mutual understanding of all other individuals. They will become stewards of the environment and learn to protect and ensure the health of our world.
